Last semester, I took a storyboarding class to learn a bit more on how to 'economize' my workflow/plan and work efficiently. It was an intensive class ngl. I held off on posting some of my work from that class since I didn't want to spam-post a ton of boards + I wanted to see what other PDF hosting options are out there. But for now, they're being hosted on DeviantArt:

btw I'm still open to better PDF/board hosting options (DA's PDF viewer doesn't work on some devices) so if anyone has any recs, feel free to drop them in the comments

So, here's this comic I've been trying to get off the ground the past few weeks. One shot, 30-ish pages, I planned it so I can squeeze work in between classes. I'm kinda nervous I won't finish it though though because i get sidetracked easily/have ditched a bunch of projects before.

So I'm gonna try posting this as an accountability thing: a deadline I'm giving myself is December 31st this year. If i'm not at least 75% done by then (inked pages/middle of adding tones), I'll drop the project

Basic summary of the project so far, It's about my main OCs, Jade & Iri trying to buy a new computer after their old one breaks. Things go wrong after they cheap-out & buy a weird-looking one. It's gonna be black & white, traditionally inked, and if I do finish it released as a PDF

Needed some place that I can easily link to for my art accounts, info, portfolio etc, but I don't have the time or funds right now to build a whole stand-alone webpage. So this is gonna be my 'portfolio website' indefinitely

Right now I have links & a portfolio/featured works section. The latter is still a wip because I'm not set on how I'll organize it and I still need to upload pics (lots of large files I need to resize)

EDIT: Team Cyberpunk!

tbh not too thrilled w/this years theme, so I picked bc I have a bunch of robot ocs & 0 steampunk ones

That's right! I'm gonna be doing artfight this year!

I ended up choking a bit in 2019 & skipping 2020 (tl:dr, real life bs), so this time I'mma try keeping up again!

https://artfight.net/~Jade-Everstone note: still need to finish updating my profiles so right now only a few are up

EDIT 5/20/21: Yeah, I think I'm not gonna go through with this (at least right now). Tried compiling earlier this week and I can't think of a good way to format something like this. I'll worry about backing up my stuff later when I have a better plan or means of hosting stuff

Over the past few years with websites constantly changing (eg: YT's ToS changes, DA eclipse, sites shutting down) I've been thinking a lot about how I'm gonna archive my works going forward.

DeviantArt right now is my biggest 'archive' of my stuff because it's the site I've been on the longest. And even though my shit from when I was 13-15 isn't too great I still think it's neato to flip through (kinda like a 'see how far I've come' thing) and I still want to keep them around in some form. Problem is with the current shifting & unstable nature of websites these days I can't trust DeviantArt will be a site I use forever. Maybe I'll abandon it, have to scrub it, or the site gets plugged. Who knows?

So what I'm considering doing is compiling my older works into PDFs. That way I can have an archive that I can have up for download (or display) on whatever site I land on. For an example of how I'm formatting it I'll link my 2017 unreleased works. I made this back in 2018 to show off older sketches and I think it's still fun to flip through even if it's old stuff

I'm still working out how I'm gonna format and share it though (especially bc of all the different file sizes). The only things I know rn is I'm not featuring art of other people's OCs (eg: artfight pics, gift art, trades) mostly because I'm not sure if everyone I've done art for is ok with me featuring their characters in a portfolio & I don't think i've made any statement abt using OC art in a portfolio yet? ( TL:DR not featuring others' OCs just to be safe & keep it fair for everyone)

Natasha, 19, she/they

'sup I'm a disaster who draws things, always looking for an excuse to talk about my OCs. I'm currently going to art school & majoring in illustration. I'm currently working towards being a comic artist/graphic novelist.

I'll admit part of the reason I came here is because of DeviantArt. After eclipse (and many other useless updates) the community's not as active. So I figured I'd poke around NG.

Outside of that, I like video games! Current favs are the Monster Hunter series and Minecraft (just a warning I'm terrible at both lol). I'm also a big fan of breakcore/hardcore music.

aaand bc I wanna plug this somewhere Prisma's my favorite OC and I won't shut up about her ok bye-
